Which one of these is the perfect wedding dress?
Wednesday, 20 May 2009
Yesterday I got my hair cut and I tentatively told the hairdresser that Bobo and I were planning to get married some time in the next year or so. "OMG, You'll have to start thinking of what to do with your hair. Bring me some emergency pictures as soon as you can we can put together a style." She ran off and produced clip on hair extensions and waxed lyrical about dressing my hair up with real flowers. The wedding is still a long way away, but somehow her enthusiasm and the wedding magazines we read at the weekend, have lit a spark of excitement. Of course this means beginning to think about style and colour. I have come up with the following selection of dresses. What do you think?
This is a gorgeous bollywood wedding dress. I like it's simplicity and luxury. And of course, a perfect excuse for a curry reception.
The colours of this one appeal to me, deep royal blue mixed with dairy milk chocolate purple. What colours would Bobo wear with it though?
This is the ooooh la la of dresses, a gothic corset dress. This dress demands a ceremony in an underground vault.

Can I have three votes?

How exciting :-)

So do I, Suburbia, but they're all great, and I do rather like the idea of having a traditional Scottish-Bollywood Wedding!

Let me see, what would Gok Wan say? No, what would I say? The third one is definitely the most spectacular, though rather impractical if you're climbing church steps etc. In which case, perhaps the rather unusual mono-sleeved one. The Bollywood dress looks a wee bit formal for a hedonistic Hullabobo splicing.

I think they're all rather beautiful and it depends on what kind of fete you want to have. (A curry reception would be super yum!) The last one is very hullabafabulous though.
This is all very exciting...looking for a wedding dress and planning hair! Congrats. xx

This is your only chance to dress up as a meringue - go for dress number 2!

The last one is absolutely stunning and very you!!. And who says you couldn't wear it and still have a curry reception!! Chris and I did when we got married :-D. We put people together that didn't know one another and then had the waiter ask them what spices they liked, how hot etc. Each table was served with a tailor made selection which was put in the middle for everyone to share....worked really well!!

Oh no question the last one, Hull and I can see Bobo in the matching kilt, one of the hunting tartans has a lot of purple and I'm sure he could claim a distant lineage for entitlement to same.

PS and lots of purple curries. And a lilac cake.

Alternatively you could always consult the I Ching. Then if it all goes horribly wrong you can blame the Ancients.

Oh the last one!
Although number one is nice if you have the belly - or don't as the case may be.

McBobo: Nope, just one vote honeybear.
Suburbia: Me too
Nick: I shall not climb any steps at all, I will get the mighty Bobo to carry me lol.
Angie: Thank you, and the curry reception sounds a winner.
Working Mum: Meringues are so last year darling, my vote is with number 3.
Carol and Chris: What a great idea. We could always just phone up the local Indian restaurant and order a mega takeaway.
WWW: I just knew you would love number 3. A word of warning, purple curries make people barf. Having a lilac cake could be a goer though.
Nick: I remember being dead into the I Ching at Uni. Obviously it was because I thought I was being mysterious and that.
Liz: The last one seems to be the odds on favourite.
If I wore the first one, I would get one of Goks' hold me tummy in thingies, which push your belly round under your armpits. Makes dancing hard, but that is the only obvious pitfall.

The last one is great but you will need to make sure that your underground vault has reasonably wide doors and stairs (trust me: I had to go up a pretty narrow staircase in a wedding dress much less full than that and I struggled. And don't get me started on trying to go for a pee in it after a few wee glasses of wine. I don't mean a pee IN it....oh you know what I mean)
